On September 1, 1951, Marty Curran met and fell in love with Barbara Canavan at Ginny and "Put" Putnam's wedding in Norwood Massachusetts.  Two years later they married on June 27, 1953, at St. Ann's Parish in Cranston, Rhode Island.

Barbara moved to 176 Roosevelt Ave in Norwood to live on the second floor of her in-law's home where she and Marty had two children, Kevin and Kathleen.  The family of four moved to 4 Springvale Road in Norwood to welcome three more children, Richard, Robert, and Neil, before moving to 20 Bonney Lane in Norwood in 1964.

There they completed their family welcoming Christopher and David.

Barbara and Marty lived on Bonney Lane for the rest of their lives.  The family home was sold 51 years later in 2015.

The home on Bonney Lane was filled with love, laughter, songs, and always lively conversation.  Marty was especially known for entertaining the family with his story telling and strong appreciation for his children's good humor and singing.

Some of the family stories were recounted by Barbara, Uncle Tom, and others,

captured in interviews starting in 2002.
